Oscar Holmes Scholarship

Attached are remarks made by John Warnock at Oscar's funeral on May 10, 2003.

In March 2004, John and Tilly Warnock made a gift to the UA Foundation to create an endowment for a scholarship honoring Oscar Holmes, who was a member of the class of 1960 and a friend to many in the class of 1959.

The scholarship is for a graduate of THS to attend UA. The recipient will be selected by the THMS Badger Foundation. The full criteria for the award are found here. Any gifts to this endowment will of course increase the amount that can be awarded to the student. John and Tilly thought some members of the class of 1959 might want to support this endowment to be a way of honoring some of the values that Oscar Holmes and the class of 1959 have stood for.

Checks should be mailed to the University of Arizona Foundation, 1111 N. Cherry, Tucson AZ 85721, made out to the Foundation, for the Oscar J. Holmes III Scholarship Endowment. The Foundation will acknowledge all gifts, and gifts are tax deductible.
